Trauma-sensitive yoga is an approach to healing that involves rebuilding safety and connection between body and mind through interoception, or awareness of internal sensations. The approach is gentle and invitational, emphasizing the client's internal experience rather than performing postures correctly or achieving a particular form.  Trauma may be experienced in the body in ways that are not always accessible through words or memory, and this approach supports clients to begin with awareness of the body at a pace that honors their individual healing process. The focus is placed on the client's own pace, internal experience, safety, and choice, as well as on building connection from the bottom up, as a complement to talk-based therapy.  No previous yoga experience is necessary.

With a maximum of 5 participants, the group offers a quiet, private, and supportive space for noticing, feeling and engaging without a talk or share-based component.  Individual counselling sessions with the facilitator will be available by appointment for those who would like additional support beyond the group.
