Self-care and wellness are two separate concepts.  The concept of self-care is one that people should be aware of and work to achieve.  Those of us who work providing support to others, particularly in the area of trauma and missing persons need to think of and include self-care in the larger context of “wellness”.

This hanbook looks at both concepts: “self-care” and “wellness” and provides the information and tools necessary to promote the importance of self-care and to expand the level of “wellness” in the lives of the people we work with and our own lives.
